Tracy Morgan was released from the New Jersey hospital where he was being treated for critical injuries from a car accident and “transferred to an undisclosed rehab center,” his press representatives said Friday.
Mr. Morgan, 45, was injured in a June 7 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike when Kevin Roper, the driver of a Walmart tractor-trailer, plowed into a limousine van carrying Mr. Morgan and other performers from a comedy show in Delaware. The comedian James McNair, known as Jimmy Mack, was killed in the accident, and a preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board said that Mr. Roper was driving 65 m.p.h. at the time of the crash.
Mr. Morgan was being treated at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick; his representatives said in a statement that he was expected to remain at the rehabilitation site “for the next few weeks.” The statement added that while Mr. Morgan “is continuing to show signs of improvement, he still has a long way to go.”
